TIBET OVERLAND ADVENTURE TO EVEREST BASE CAMP

KATHMANDU, LHASA, GANDEN

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel. 

Day 2: Full day guided sightseeing inside Kathmandu to visit several Unesco protected sites, to include the Swayambhunath, Bouddhanth, Guheshwari and Pashupatinath. That evening, enjoy a cultural evening meal and dance in true Nepalese style.

 

Day 3: After breakfast, we fly across the Himalayas to Lhasa, capital of Tibet. Rest of day at leisure to adjust to the altitude.

 

Day 4: Today we spend the day visiting some of the magnificent sights of Lhasa, such as Sera Monastery, and the Norbulingka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. Overnight Hotel.

 

Day 5: We continue our visit to the famous Potala Palace, as well as the Drepung Monastery founded in the 14th century, and once the largest in the world, with a population of around 10,000 monks.
 

Day6:

Day6: Genden Monastery & back to Lhasa

Today you will take a day trip to Ganden monastery. Ganden Monastery is located on Wangbur Mountain, on the southern bank of Lhasa River. Ganden Monastery is one of the earliest and largest Buddhist monasteries in Tibet, and stands atop of the six famous temples of Gelugpa - a branch of Tibetan Buddhism. This compact monastery was once gutted by fire but the restoration is now complete. Drive back to Lhasa in the afternoon.

 

Day 7: Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight Hotel

 

Day 8: Transfer to the airport for your onward flight home
