in Guyana.
Arrive in
Guyana, a nature lover's gem, waiting to be discovered. It is known as
the land of many waters and the giants of the world; among them, the
mighty Essequibo river, Giant Arapaima fish, Harpy eagle, the Anaconda,
Giant Otters, Black Caiman, Jaguars and more. Transfer to your hotel.

Saturday: Georgetown city tour (BL)
Georgetown
was called Longchamps by the French, and Stabroek by the Dutch. It is a
city full of historical monuments, many of them gracious colonial
buildings which are still used today. It is known as the 'Garden City of
the Caribbean '. Wide tree lined avenues and beautiful architecture,
ranging from Gothic to Elizabethan, are evident as you drive along Main
Street , High Street and Brickdam. St Georges Cathedral is the tallest
freestanding wooden building in the world and was consecrated on 1892.
Picturesque City hall was completed in 1889. St Andrew's Kirk is the
first church built in Guyana over 139 years ago ( completed in 1818).
The Victorian Law courts built in 1887, Stabroek Market, Parliament
building (built in 1834) are also many of the fine examples of colonial
architecture. Our visit also includes the Umana Yana, Prime Minister's
Residence, and State House built in 1845 as the governor's residence,
the Walter Roth Museum with its display of Amerindian artifacts, the
national museum, the Botanical and zoological gardens . The bustling and
colourful markets of Bourda, Stabroek and Kitty are some of the
city'sprized landmarks. We will stop for a light snak at the breezy
resort along the Atlantic ocean before continuing to the longest
floating bridge in the world.
Sunday: Kaieteur
Falls (BL)
Morning
flight to Kaieteur Falls. See the majestic 740 ft natural wonder from
different vantage points.
Spend 2
hours at the falls. Picnic lunch and afternoon return. Transfer to

Monday:
Paramaribo, Suriname Paramaribo city tour: (B)
6:00 am
transfer to airport for flight to Paramaribo Suriname. 8:00 am
departure.10:00 am arrival in Paramaribo. Met by our representative and
transfer to hotel for check in. Afternoon city tour of Paramaribo,
including guided tour by bus along the most prominent historic locations
in the city center where you will be impressed by the outstanding
architecture. You will also visit Fort Zeelandia, Palmentuin (Palm
Garden), the Waterkant and the Central Market. Return to hotel. Rest of
afternoon free to visit the Casino or shop for Souvenirs. Return to
Torarica Hotel and Casino for overnight.
Tuesday:
To French Guiana (BL)
Morning
transfer to Albina by air conditioned car. This is a one and a half hour
drive to Crossing to be made and then transfer to Kourou. Transfer to
Mercure Atlantis for 2 nights.
Wednesday: Devil's Islands tour (BL)
Transfer to
Ile Royale for your Devil's island tour. Fourteen kilometres north of
Kourou, Devils Islands (formerly known as the Triangle Isles) comprise
three islands: Royale (28 ha), Saint-Joseph (20 ha) and Devil's island
(14 ha). Your English guide will escort you to Ile Royale and you will
be given a spot presentation detailing the history of the islands that
make up the penal settlements. See Devil's Island from the Auberge and
learn about the legend behind "Papillon". Learn about Dreyfus and about
the French Guiana colonial era. Visit the ruins of the penal
settlement-cells dating back to 1847. Visit Joseph Island. Late
afternoon return to hotel.
Thursday: Ariane Space Centre (BL)
Transfer to
Ariane space centre. Bus shuttle to the main installations and get to
know more about the space program. Return to hotel and departure by
noon for Paramaribo. Packed lunch will be provided. Transfer to Torarica
Hotel and Casino for overnight. (B) (L)
Friday: Paramaribo, Suriname - Georgetown, Guyana (B)
Fly to
Guyana and transfer to Le Meridien Pegasus for overnight. (B)
Saturday: Departure
Transfer to
airport for your flight.
